SE™ International is committed to be a leading training institute for neurobiological interventions that decompress stress responses and regulate the nervous system. Traditionally, SE™ has been used to resolve the trauma by working through “stuck energy” from past events and experiences. Our trainings are provided worldwide currently in 38 countries and have instructed over 100,000 individuals in SE principles.

Building on the legacy of the great work of Dr. Peter Levine, these adapted SE™ crisis stabilization methods are designed for use in real time while the high-intensity, crisis, or traumatic event may still be occurring, to interrupt the stress response providing immediate relief and potentially prevents or precludes development of longstanding traumatic effects, such PTSD and other psychological problems in the body or mind. For this reason, SEPs™ and other mental health and bodyworkers, first and secondary responders can all benefit from some direct training in the science that supports these practices, backed by evidence-based research, to make people better prepared for the catastrophic circumstances that disasters and related high stress situations may cause.

All professions can benefit from programs adapted to their field, one that helps decompress tension and restore resilience for the kinds of particular challenges you face. Our Peer-to-Peer SE™ Crisis Stabilization short programs are in development as a feature of our COVID19 response efforts. If you want this kind of short and specialized training for you and your colleagues, contact us at publichealth@traumahealing.org today!

SEP Enhancements

Our Somatic Experiencing Practitioners (SEPs) worldwide have the best of training in the suite of SE™ neurological interventions, applied polyvagal theory, and deep psychobiological methods to resolve trauma. We are adding a short program of disaster and related community trauma training to provide credentials for SEPs who are cross trained in crisis response and real-time trauma safety.

Further Developments

In the works: SE™ Disaster Relief training programs, DART Team deployment models, Field training for using SE™ Crisis Stabilization and Safety Aid toolkit, and support sessions for frontline workers of many varieties. Stay tuned to our Facebook page and newsletter for updates!

The SE™ Community is undeniably comprised of incredible people working in the world to truly make a difference

We are a people committed to bringing forth a global culture of healing and wholeness for all. The good work of this Crisis Stabilization Aid has been the product of many contributions and collaboration, but undoubtably the foremost gratitude and acknowledgement goes to Alexandra Whitney, PhD, SEP. Alexandra started the conversation about doing support sessions for frontline medical professionals, originally offering a designed protocol for SE interventions easily remembered and used through the mnemonic SCOPE. As you can see from our page, the conversation caught fire and led to bigger ideas, including the further development of SCOPE as an easy-to-use field guide for SE Crisis Stabilization. We extend additional gratitude to the many SEPs, Faculty, Institute staff, and our COVID19 Response Working Group who collaborated to bring this to the world as quickly as possible. We thank you, and look forward to more ways we can all continue to work together to bring Somatic Experiencing to the communities and people who can benefit from it the most.
