Scale Development from an SE Perspective: Positive Sensations Tool Development – Derya Eryigit, PhD & Dilara Özel

Description

This workshop aims to present the steps of psychometric assessment tool development from the SE perspective. In this workshop, scale development the steps that should be followed are going to be explained through the “Positive Sensations Scale” which is developed by the authors. The Positive Sensations Scale is 25 items, 5 Likert, scale ranging from 1 (did not feel at all), and 5 (felt so intensely). Scale is assessing the positive sensations by imagining a pleasant memory of the previous week. The scale is developed from the perspective of resources in SE and all statistical analyses are followed to have a valid and reliable tool. After this workshop, participants are expected to gain knowledge about the steps of developing a valid and reliable assessment tool with a theoretical background. Thus we believe this workshop will inspire participants about psychometric tools developed from the SE perspective.Learning Objectives
