Urs Honauer began his professional career as a primary teacher, specialized then to work with blind and deaf children, followed by additional University Studies in the fields of Educational Psychology, Social Work, Philosophy, Special Ed, and Journalism. He received a master's degree and then a PhD in Educational Psychology.

Urs spent many years in Journalism as an editor in Zürich's largest newspaper and a correspondent while living in New York (1989-94). He was the Communication Manager at 4 Soccer World Cups, the Olympics in Atlanta, and other international events.

Urs continued his studies in psychology with Arnold Mindell and Max Schuepbach (Process Work Center in Portland, Oregon) and is trained in Polarity Therapy, ImpulseWork, Craniosacral Therapy, and Family Oriented Pre- and Perinatal Work (Castellino). He has a background in Dialog (Krishnamurti-Bohm approach), Taoist Energy System (Mantak Chia), Ayurveda, and NLP. Urs was the Director of Center for Inner Ecology (ZIO) and Polarity Center Switzerland for over 10 years. He has been an instructor or Polarity, Pre- and Perinatal Work, ImpulseWork, and Authentic Communication for over 10 years, and speaks internationally on these topics.

Fluent in German, English, French and Spanish, Urs has authored several books. He is married and is the father of two girls.
