Sister Stephanie Spandl, LICSW

"I have been very grateful for the scholarship received for SE training. For most of the refugees/immigrants with whom I work, mental health struggles invoke stigma, talking about trauma seems counter-intuitive and therapy itself is a very new concept. The SE training has provided me with a more holistic way of working with the trauma my refugee clients have experienced, offering principles and interventions that better align with the somatic expression of symptoms they often exhibit and that allow me to adapt to their cultural expressions of distress and the ways they self-regulate and find well-being. At our non-profit, MORE (www.more-empowerment.org), we are small and have limited resources, but attempt to respond to a great need. The SE scholarship has increased our capacity to do this."

Eva M. Belanger, Executive Director, Warriors LIVE ON

"My gratitude for SETI is great. There is no way I would be able to train in this modality of therapy if it were not for the generosity of the community at SETI. I am a true believer in the power of Somatic Experiencing Therapy."
