Doug Allen had completed a 20-year career in the Canadian Forces Infantry, where he was a leader within the ranks but also an innovator within the system. During his last few years of service, he dedicated himself to the ill and injured and created a casualty support cell, as well as helped in the development and implementation of mental health initiatives within the Canadian Forces; all while working towards his Masters degree in Social Work. Doug spent 3 years traveling to the US to become a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner, and is considered to be a trauma specialist by many practitioners who send their clients to him for his specific Nervous System Recalibration technique. He is also the lead facilitator in Atlantic Canada for the Veterans Transition Network, a non-profit organization that has gained international recognition for it’s group based residential programming for veterans. Doug is the Founder of the Atlantic Group and Trauma Training Center, where he mixes his 20 years of peace support and combat experience with his expertise in the function of the nervous system to deliver training for clinicians and helping professionals working with people who are suffering from trauma or dysregulated nervous systems.
