Job Summary

The Manager of Marketing & Creative Services plays a key role in coordinating and executing Somatic Experiencing International’s (SEI) marketing, creative, and communications activities. This position supports the day-to-day operations of the marketing function—including content creation, digital media, email marketing, design coordination, and website updates—and helps ensure a consistent and engaging brand presence across SEI’s global community. The Manager collaborates closely with internal teams and external vendors to carry out marketing plans, keep projects on schedule, and maintain high-quality communications that reflect SEI’s mission and values.

This role helps coordinate and may oversee project flow for a small team and contractors, ensuring tasks are well organized, deadlines are clear, and creative output aligns with established goals and direction from leadership.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

1. Marketing Implementation

  • Implement marketing and communications plans that support SEI’s mission, values, and organizational priorities.
  • Maintain alignment between creative work, program needs, and strategic direction provided by leadership.
  • Support the ongoing development and implementation of marketing initiatives including but not limited to: data driven marketing with quarterly milestones that support brand growth, community engagement, and reputation management.
  • Align with SEI’s use of the Entrepreneurial Operating System (EOS), ensuring that the marketing department’s operations and goals integrate effectively with the organization’s EOS framework, including goals and vision.
  • Coordinate responsibilities across a small team and contractors within marketing and creative services to ensure timelines, deliverables, and workflows are clear and on track.
  • Provide management, support, and accountability across content, design, digital media, production, PR, and communications functions.
  • Maintain regular communication with team members to review progress, clarify priorities, and resolve operational issues.
  • Manage the marketing team using structured leadership practices, including maintaining clear quarterly priorities, measurable outcomes, project timelines, and holding regular meetings focused on alignment, progress, and problem-solving.

2. Social & Digital Media Leadership

  • Implement and manage SEI’s social media and digital engagement activities across major platforms, ensuring consistent voice, branding, and mission alignment in collaboration with PR messaging.
  • Monitor performance metrics and brand sentiment tracking, user journey, social listening insights, and respond to opportunities and challenges proactively.
  • Coordinate paid digital campaigns that expand awareness and engagement, in addition to driving revenue generating activities such as training and event registrations, membership marketing, “company e-store” sales and video rentals.

3. Website and Email Marketing

  • Manage ongoing website updates, ensuring accurate, accessible, and engaging content that aligns with organizational needs.
  • Collaborate cross-departmentally to highlight educational programs, events, and global community through digital platforms.
  • Execute SEI’s email marketing efforts, including audience segmentation, personalizing content, and evaluating outcomes for continual improvement.
  • Use CRM insights to help target communications, personalize messaging, and improve engagement across global audiences.

4. Collaboration and Cross-Functional Alignment

  • Collaborate with other departments—including Global SEP Program, Global Community, Global Technology, Global People, and Global Finance—to ensure seamless coordination of marketing support for key initiatives.
  • Support international aspects of the Somatic Experiencing community, particularly organizers, associations, and faculty, to ensure that marketing supports both global coherence and regional autonomy.
  • Assist with marketing-related tasks for organizational initiatives, launches, and communications efforts as directed by leadership.
  • Support the Executive and Leadership Teams to develop strategic initiatives, launches, and communications efforts.
  • Maintain clarity in the Accountability Chart, ensuring roles and responsibilities are well defined and aligned with organizational objectives.

5. Team Development & Leadership

  • Provide strategic direction and mentorship to the Marketing team; set clear goals and ensure professional development pathways.
  • Build systems and processes that enable creativity to flourish while maintaining accountability to results.
  • Lead regular team meetings focused on alignment, clear communication, and issue-solving.
  • Oversee production and public relations workflows, ensuring high-quality, timely delivery of multimedia, media, and creative content.

6. Other Duties

  • Represent SEI at conferences and events as needed.
  • Contribute to cross-departmental strategy sessions, planning retreats, and leadership development initiatives.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as assigned by the Co-Executive Directors.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • 5+ years of progressive experience in marketing leadership within a global nonprofit, educational, or mission- driven organization.
  • Proven ability to balance strategic vision with operational execution and accountability.
  • Experience supervising a small marketing team and coordinating multiple functional areas.
  • Experience leading and integrating cross-functional teams in complex organizations.
  • Proven ability to execute Global PR strategy.
  • Strong ability to develop and execute comprehensive global marketing.
  • Excellent interpersonal, cross-cultural communication skills.
  • Proven ability to write and edit a variety of content from internal strategic plans, annual reports, customer newsletters, and marketing content.
  • Ability to synthesize diverse inputs into cohesive strategies and measurable actions.
  • Strategic thinker with strong follow-through and adaptability.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365, Salesforce, Asana, MailChimp, Canva and other digital marketing tools.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of Somatic Experiencing or somatic-based practices.
  • Experience in international or multicultural organizational environments.
  • Fluency in additional languages.
  • Background in production management, including multimedia, digital campaigns, or creative services.
  • Prior experience managing contractors and global communications networks.
  • Prior exposure to Entrepreneurial Operating Systems (EOS)

Physical Demands

  • Heavy use of computer and digital tools.
  • Travel at least once per quarter for conferences, retreats, and in-person leadership meetings.
