Dear SE® Community,
We are deeply shocked and saddened by the Aurora, Colorado movie theater shooting this morning, in which more than 70 people were injured or killed. Moments like these raise questions for which there are no answers. Moments like these also bring out the best in people. We hold in our hearts those affected by these events with compassion and support, as well as our students in the current Somatic Experiencing® training in Boulder, who are so close to the affected community.
Our dedicated team at the SE Trauma Institute, which is located less than an hour from the site of the shooting, is working on a response to the events in the Colorado community. Our orientation is to provide relief to the victims, to bring awareness to SE, and to use SE in dealing with our own emotions and shock.
